Hmm is it possible to have something like a chat area but its like you can chat but still look around on A-S, for example like facebook...

Also is there a way so members can design their own signatures and avatars on the forum? I'm not sure if you would be able to get something like that

not quite sure what you mean by the chat thing? do you mean a shoutbox thing like on this forum?

the self designing avatars and signatures are not really possible to integrate into the forum, but i'll have a look for some links where you can design your own online.

I'm in the process of redesigning and reskinning the site on my pc, with a view to uploading it sometime in the next few weeks. Does anyone have some feature requests or suggestions for how we can improve things?

I'm already updating most of the different forum "add-ons"... the tutorials, and adding content. I've also managed to get my hands on a backup of the old old old site, so i can add back in over 36000 old posts and bits of information, plus some of the old blogs, downloads and things. (yes ken, that means i can restore your blogs from like 3 years ago!) To work out how to incorporate the old posts into the current stuff may take me some time, but I will manage!

I'll be reskinning the whole site too, hopefully also with a "new" automatic mobile phone skin that means you can access the site with your phone, but still have the same features... just with less access time that will allow people to still come onto the site, but without having to wait 15 minutes to download the graphics!

What I have in mind right now is to dissolve the "wiki" area, as no-one seems to use it anyway. I'll try to re-incorporate it in some form in a "history of the A-Series forum" so that people can learn all about the motor we all love. I have a lot of the old tutorials on how to do basic maintainance on your cars, I have a new way that you can keep up to date with events via your emails and PMs, I'm looking at a new downloads system, and i'm also looking at a new way that our members can contribute and be rewarded by site sponsors that keeps both parties happy and interested. (and no, it doesn't mean signing up to any "get rich quick" membership schemes or "plus" systems. I will also add a few systems where you can add in your facebook, myspace, twitter etc etc information and other members can follow you here or on social networking sites.

Anyway, please tell us, what can we do to make the site more accessible, easier to use, more user friendly. If anyone comes up with some good suggestions, then i'll try to find a way to "reward" them.

Liking the idea about being able to access on the phone. Brilliant news about having posts from way back... To be honest i think you have most of that covered. Shall have a think and see if i can suggest anything else. All sounds good to me though!

i can do a youtube area no problem. I think I can even find a code so they are easy to post within threads. I'll see what I can do. any takers for a decent classifieds area? it's gonna cost me but if it's gonna be used.....

sorry for the delay. Invision are about to release a brand new version of the software, and i'd rather wait for that and do things once. hope you all understand...

Decent classifieds sounds rather spiffing. Anything with a rating system and/or feedback would be preferable. Maybe classifieds with an option of a Buy It Now? But we need to impose a post minimum, just for the safety of everyone.

while i've got some time, I'm back on this. Got a new version of the software, plus a shed load of addons to sort out! Should be fun!

Anyway, as was the original thingy, if anyone has any suggestions... apart from more traffic! lol
